How to join Space Station Centaur

We are affiliated with both STARFLEET International and Starfleet Sol Sector, which means that we have something for everyone. Every member of Centaur is part of Sol Sector but membership of SFI (STARFLEET International) is optional simply because there is a small cost attached to SFI.

STARFLEET International

STARFLEET International is possibly one of the largest and oldest Star Trek fan associations in the world, and Space Station Centaur is a chapter within Region 20, which covers the UK and Ireland. There are a number of benefits to SFI membership, the biggest of which is probably access to the STARFLEET Academy. It costs about 4.00 a year payable to SFI (not Centaur), but you do not have to be a member of SFI to be a crewmember of Centaur (unless you wish to hold an officer rank or be part of the Senior Team).

Starfleet Sol Sector

In contrast to SFI, Sol Sector is one of the newest Star Trek fan associations but also one of the most promising. Membership of Sol Sector is completely free of charge and thus, all Centaur members are members of Sol Sector.

How do I join?

It's very easy. First, you need to decide upon your membership type. Don't worry, that's not difficult. All you have to do is decide if you want to join via SFI (paid membership) or Sol (free membership)

FREE MEMBERSHIP VIA SOL
PAID MEMBERSHIP VIA SFI

This is the simplest form of membership to Centaur where you enjoy being a member of our crew and Sol Sector. It's completely free of charge and to sign up, you can use this link ...

With this membership you can take part in all the things that Centaur does and you can hold an Enlisted rank (that's Crewman to Master Chief Petty Officer) or civilian if that is what you would prefer.

Simply log onto STARFLEET, The International Star Trek  Fan Association, Inc. and complete the details on-line.

Under CHAPTER, don't forget to select SS CENTAUR to ensure you dock safely.

SFI Renewal or Transfers

If you are an expired member of STARFLEET International ...

All you will need is your SCC Number (your membership number) and then you can renew using the link above. If you have been a member before and don't know your SCC Number, please drop the Commanding Officer a line and we can look it up for you.

To contact the Commanding Officer, please eMail ... co at space-station-centaur.org.uk.

As an expired member renewing, you may then need to log in and update the chapter listed on your record to USS CENTAUR. To do this, please see below.

If you are a current member of STARFLEET International ...

If you are a current member of STARFLEET or have only recently renewed, you may need to update your chapter information or effect a transfer.

If you transferring from an active chapter, the STARFLEET handbook details the 'etiquette' for this. It says, "Should you ever wish to transfer your Primary Chapter membership from one chapter to another, simply inform both of the CO’s involved".

However, if you are Unassigned or registered with a Chapter no longer operating, as long as you know your User Name and have access to the database, you can  change your chapter yourself. Log into the database at https://db.sfi.org/ , select MEMBER and CHANGE ACCOUNT INFO. Underneath your basic details, you will see CHANGE CHAPTER listed.

If you do not know your User Name or have any difficulties, please eMail the Commanding Officer ... co at space-station-centaur.org.uk.

What can I expect from my membership?

You will meet lots of people who share similar interests to you because we all love science fiction. You will get to know those new friends as you chat with them, and take part in little quizzes in the group. We also produce a quarterly newsletter for our chapter members (called The Centaurian).
